TRAIL MAINTENANCE UNIT (TMU)

GETTING STARTED

Initially, you'll start out as a non-member volunteer. Here's how:

Simply contact Jim Zevely, Unit Coordinator, and let him know you're interested.

He'll put you on our e-mailing list and let you know the next time we're having a work party. If you can make it, great! If not, that's OK --- we'll just keep you on our mailing list.

Show up with gloves, food/snack, plenty of water (at least a liter in the summer), and closed end shoes or boots. We STRONGLY recommend you wear a long sleeved shirt, even in the summer, since you may get up close and personal with foliage, sharp branches and bark, an accidental brush with poison oak, etc.

We'll have you sign a waiver at the beginning of each work session.

If you like being a trail hand, just keep coming to the work sessions! You're not required to "progress" to member status. You may remain a non-member volunteer for as long as you want; you will always be welcome to participate in our work parties as a non-member volunteer if that's what you wish.

However, at some point, you may want to consider becoming a full-fledged member of our TMU. Learn more.
